Lubeznik Art & Artisan Festival features the best contemporary art galleries, artists, and artisans from the region, plus an exciting and eclectic music lineup, food galore, beer, wine and art happenings all weekend long.
THE EXPERIENCE
The Festival is now in it’s 35th year! And what better way to celebrate our long tradition, by refreshing our concept and making the Festival THE PLACE TO BE on August 19-21.
All components of the festival will be interwoven throughout our property so festival-goers will come for a particular component but become immersed in the entire experience – an experience that is firmly anchored in the LCA’s mission and vision: interweaving visual art, performance, culinary arts, artisans with an edgy, contemporary sensibility. The Festival will include: art galleries, artisans, food and drinks, music, and artist activations.
LAAF, held off-site for many years, is now being held on the LCA grounds further immersing festival-goers in the LCA experience. The goal of having the event on our property is to help visitors connect with us and our mission more effectively.
LOCATION AND PARKING
All events held on the festival grounds at the corner of 101 W. 2nd & Washington Streets (on the LCA lawn & beyond)
Free & convenient off-site parking and shuttle service is available and encouraged.
LAAF ELEMENTS AT A GLANCE
Art: Discover the next big thing at a reasonable price point. Contemporary artists will be exhibiting and selling their work in outdoor booths on the LCA lawn. Bert Green Fine Art Gallery (Chicago), Judy Ferrara Gallery (Three Oaks, MI), and Thaddeus C. Gallery (LaPorte, IN) will also be on-site to bring the best in emerging and contemporary artists to Michigan City.
Artisans: Artisans represent a wealth of “makers” in our region selling everything from fine-craft and functional art to artisan goods and gourmet food items alongside the artists and galleries.
Craft Brews and Local Wineries: Craft beer selection from Shoreline Brewery and wine selections will be available at the music pavilion.
Food: Northwest Indiana is fully immersed in the food truck movement and we will celebrate our local chefs and restaurants at LAAF – bringing the best in local flavor together for the weekend including: Bartlett’s Gourmet Grill food truck, Shoreline Brewery, Redamak’s “Patty” Wagon, Yats Cajun Creole, sweet treats and much more.
